Only for the most discriminating herper, Jaquet Droz presents the Petite Heure Minute Relief Snake watch. Built with an 18kt polished white gold case and lugs set with two rows of diamonds, this is the most discerning of reptile-inspired timepieces. The 41mm case is set with 272 diamonds for a total weight of 1.04 carats. The hand engraved cobra, in white gold, is set with three diamonds with enamel coloring painted onto the dial to give a 3D image.
It is part of the Ateliers d'Arts collection, and only 8 such watches were built for this collection. It can be yours for around $70,000, about twice as much as some ball python morphs cost during the early days of the ball python morph craze.
John B. Virata keeps a ball python, two corn snakes, a kingsnake, and two leopard geckos. His first snake, a California kingsnake, was purchased at the Pet Place in Westminster, CA for $5. His first pet reptile was a green anole that arrived in a small box via mail order. Follow him on Twitter @johnvirata
