In early Steve Irwin footage, dated to 1991, he is on a local Australian television show discussing pythons, explaining to the viewers that the particular python he is handling, which appears to be an olive python, doesn’t get very big, isn’t venomous and won’t bite him. . . when the python decides to do just that.
Irwin was about to explain the difference between the python and a venomous snake (I am guessing an eastern brown snake) when he tells the camera operator that they may have to cut because the python is biting his neck.

He then begins to unravel the snake from his neck (You gotta love the mini-mullet he has going on as well) and sure enough, the snake is latched to his neck. The host is surprised that the snake had bit Irwin as well. Irwin then says “Sorry about that” to the host and the camera operator, as if it was his fault. The clip is all of 55 seconds but doesn’t it sure make you miss Steve Irwin?
