Farm will encourage attendees to support conservation efforts of endangered reptiles.
The St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park in St Augustine, FL is hosting a "Reptile Awareness Weekend" Oct. 20-21 in an effort to raise awareness of endangered and rare reptiles, including the Chinese alligator (A. sinensis).

The event will focus on educating and encouraging the public to support conservation efforts of endangered reptiles. Attendees will also get a chance to get their picture taken with a small Chinese alligator that currently calls the farm home. The farm is part of a worldwide effort to increase the number of Chinese alligators in the wild and maintains a Chinese alligator breeding program as well as breeding programs for other crocodilians, including the Cuban crocodile, Philippine crocodile, Indian Gharial, and the Siamese crocodile.
