A carpet python feasted on a bat in the backyard of Mille Stoevring and Shane Turner in Sunrise Beach, a suburb of Noosa in Queensland, Australia. The snake was close to 10 feet long, according to Sunshine Coast Daily. The couple’s dog alerted them to the meal by barking and the spectacle so fascinated Stoevring and Turner that they filmed it.

"We were there filming about 20 centimetres [about 8 inches] away, the snake wasn't fazed at all," Stoevring told Sunshine Coast Daily. "It was fascinating to watch it making its way over the bat's body, to the other wing tip. It would have been halfway through when we found it hanging in the tree with its head down. This bat was massive, so the snake was almost trying to hook its jaw to try and fit it in. It was just amazing to see the snake's mouth square as it tried to somehow fit the edged parts of the bat in. We stood there for half an hour watching this snake slowly trying to navigate its jaw around the critter."
