A reptile calming kit that is designed to calm reptiles has won an award at the Pet & Aquatics Trade Show in Birmingham, England.
Pet Remedy’s Fast Acting Reptile Calming & Emotional Wellbeing Kit won an award in the Reptile Products category at the show. The kit is designed to support a reptile’s emotional well being and is potentially useful as a calming aid for a stressed out reptile, the company says.

It includes a 75ml calming spray, 6 calming wipes that are a blend of valerian, vetiver, basil, and clary sage oils. The solution is not a sedative but is a scent that is supposed to interact with the reptile’s olfactory system that helps to promote a calmer response. The spray is not intended to be used directly on the reptile but rather on the enclosure glass so the scent can be indirectly ingested by the animal. The company commissioned a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 37 captive reptiles and found a statistically significant reduction in stress behaviors during handling when the reptiles were exposed to Pet Remedy.
“We’re absolutely delighted to win the PATs New Product Showcase Award for our Reptile Calming Kit,” Martyn Barklett-Judge, Managing Director of Pet Remedy said in a press release put out to the media.
“Pet Remedy has always been about supporting the emotional wellbeing of all pets, and this kit is an important way of making that support more accessible and relevant to the reptile-keeping community.”
“This award is fantastic recognition for a product that brings the proven Pet Remedy concept to reptile keepers in a simple, practical format,” Rob Tyler, Sales Director at Pet Remedy said. “Reptiles can experience stress just like other pets, and we’re really pleased to help retailers offer their customers a natural calming solution designed with this community in mind.”
