Josh’s Frogs maintains its animals to standards set by the American Humane Society and has earned the society’s American Humane Certified distinction for the high level of care and treatment of its animals.

Called the Companion Animal Welfare certification, the society assessed the safety, welfare, and well being as well as the overall condition of the herps, insects and aquatic life available from Josh’s Frogs and to determine compliance with the society’s standards. Those standards are based on rigorous, science-based criteria for animal welfare and are also reviewed by an independent scientific advisory committee. That committee includes leaders in the field of animal science, behavior and animal ethics.
