The Garter Snake: A North American Icon
Herping for Western Garter Snakes
This video has not yet gone viral but it just might. Two guys happened upon a garter snake that was entangled in some debris, what looks like plastic netting, and decided to record them freeing the snake from the netting. The video is all of four minutes in length, and the garter snake is a bit upset that it is stuck, and even more so that it is being freed by the two guys.
What happens after the snake is freed from its predicament is sort of a shocker to the two freeing the snake, but not so much to us who are aware what can happen to a snake when it gets stressed. Check the video, but be warned that there is some judicious use of profanities.
