This encounter marks the first time a venomous snake killed an animal at the park, and as a precaution to avoid future encounters, the zoo will put wire mesh across all of its enclosures in an effort to prevent animals from getting into the enclosures. The zoo will also employ trenches and other means to keep animals out.

According to the Hindustan Times, the cobra that killed Rajan was partially paralyzed across 1/3 of its body during the encounter. Veterinarians at the zoo says it will take some time for the reptile to fully recover, and said if and when it does recover, the snake will be released back into the forest in which it came.
