The snakes were either mating or it was two males fighting for dominance.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was recorded on video removing a pair of black racer snakes (Coluber constrictor) from the patio of Dr. Mehmet Oz in Florida over the Memorial Day weekend. The snakes were either mating or it was two males fighting for dominance.
“Cheryl cheerleads the removal of a pair of Black Racers from Dr Oz’s patio,” Kennedy wrote on Instagram May 26. The snakes were squirming about as Kennedy was holding the pair by their tails, and he got bit a few times as he carried them.
Kennedy Brothers Rescue Leatherback Sea Turtle, Get Investigated By NOAA
The United States Health and Human Services Secretary is no stranger to handling reptiles. During his short-lived campaign for president in 2024, Kennedy was recorded untangling a gopher snake that was ensnared in some plastic netting at his daughter’s friend’s house. And in 2013, Kennedy and his brother Max rescued a leatherback sea turtle that was tangled in a buoy line in Nantucket Sound. That rescue got the National Marine Fisheries Service involved as the Kennedy brothers apparently violated the Endangered Species Act when they rescued it because they didn’t have a permit to do so.
