Suffolk police in Huntington Station, New York are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of a woman who apparently stole four bearded dragon lizards August 23, from a Huntington Station pet store.

The theft, which occurred at Selmer’s Pet Land and was caught on video, shows two juvenile males and the woman approach the enclosure that housed some fairly expensive bearded dragon morphs, and as one juvenile cut the screen to the enclosure and placed the lizards in the woman’s purse, another acted as a look out.

“I find it disgusting that you are teaching your kid’s to steal,” Antonio Romano of Selmer’s Pet Land told News 12 Long Island. “She looked like she knew exactly what she was doing when they were doing it so I don’t believe this was the first time she’s done this.” Romano estimated the value of the four lizards stolen at around $1,500. One of the lizards was already reserved for a long time customer, Romano said.

The pet store has added additional security cameras in the reptile room, and Suffolk Police are asking the public’s help in finding the woman responsible, offering a $5,000 reward that leads to the arrest and conviction of the woman.
