My Northen Pine Vinnys just over 6ft and 7lb he’s a big lad lol, I’ve had trouble with shedding in bits too and I find that misting him with a spray water bottle of warming water a few days before shedding is due usually helps, I’ll spray the top of his wooden hide Hut you don’t need much 5-10 sprays and I’ll lightly spray him from head to tail, just make sure you don’t over wet the enclosure and it should be fine, I’ve been doing this with Vinny now the last few years, I usually spray once a day from the day his eyes return clear until he sheds, hope this helps I know this thread is quite old now but have only just come across it.

Are there any snakes for sale? I am wondering about getting one for my sibling for her birthday. She is good at taking care of animals.

good luck getting it to eat cooked chicken, but if it did eat it that would be fine.

Hey, sorry it’s been so long. I hope your Jani is ok! What I do if that happens is soak the snake in a bowl of warm water. I get a ripper ware type container and like the bottom with paper towel. Then I fill it with only enough water to cover about half the snake and then I put it in. It helped my baby kingsnake shed part of her tail that wouldn’t come off with the rest of it. Hope everything is ok!!

Hi there, I don’t even know if this thread is still active but I have a question about my Jani’s recent bad shed. She is 6 months old, a great eater, excellent handler, etc. But in the 5 months I’ve had her, she’s shed perfect to decent every time except for this one. She is currently shedding it’s bits and pieces which is obviously concerning me. I know these snakes do not have a high tolerance for humidity, so I haven’t really changed the humidity during shedding which I believe is a mistake. Is there anything I should be doing to make shedding easier on her? Thanks.
