“Thanks for this article. I adore chameleons and so after many years I’ve decided to treat myself this year (2019)
As a sensible person, I am reading as much information as possible on the best variety to own and general care. I read from many sources plus I take comments on board too, so as to form my own opinion from the broad knowledge I am developing. Respect ✊🏻

“I have a 10 month old panther chameleon that I got a couple weeks ago from a local reptile expo. He’s very picky and I don’t know if something is wrong or I’m feeding him the wrong things? I’ve tried crickets, Fluker’s gourmet grasshoppers, mealworms, and hornworms. The only thing he seems to like is the hornworms and crickets. I buy small crickets naturally for my juvenile leopard gecko. I have a custom built cage for my Cham but I try not to do crickets because the whole cage is holed with a sliding metal thing at the bottom with 2 “”resting areas””.
Please help.

Ficus Benjamina, in a separate article stated that it can cause eye irritations. Especially if the reptile is molting and using plant life to rub skin off. The sap can be very irritating. Just a heads up.

“Wow! Bravo, amazing care sheet! Great info, pictures, Etc.! I purchased a 4 month old veiled chameleon about ten months ago. His name was Joey, but unfortunately he passed away 2 days ago.. I gave him proper water and food, but he started acting strange.. Then i woke up yesterday to look over to see him hanging dead from a branch… 🙁 Anyway, i am thinking of purchasing a Panther Chameleon later this year, improving my care, food, water, tools, branches, vines etc. This is where i want you guys to come in! I am stuck thinking between 3 names: Cyrus/Siris, Cooper, or Nyx for a male. Thank you!

Would these make good animals to hold and handle or are they more of a display peice

For anyone wanting this as they’re first reptile personally i wouldn’t do it these require so much dedication and time and work. I would go with say an anole or a bearded dragon.

After initial hesitation, purchased a 7 month male Panther who is now the favourite family pet – we have several reptiles. It is now very tame and comes to the hand when outstretched and never hisses or bites. Lovely pet and we let it out daily under supervision and climbs our furniture and bookshelves.
