A new kind of reptile show has arrived on the scene.
Every reptile hobbyist enjoys traveling to a reptile expo to see the latest selection of reptiles and products being offered by all the vendors. Whether you’re in the market to spend some fairly big bucks for some of the latest morphs or want to get your first pet reptile, there’s no denying the excitement that floods the floor of a reptile expo. You’re there with many like-minded people sharing the aisles, and the breeders are available to chat with, to help you provide the best possible care for your new purchases. Every reptile expo is an event, and one that many hobbyists plan for all year long. There are a lot of great shows from which to choose, too, including the biggest, the National Reptile Breeders Expo in Daytona, as well as the multiple NARBC shows, the Repticons, Reptile Super Shows and others (and you can find a list of them all right here). The “brick and mortar” reptile shows will forever remain a mainstay of the hobby, and looked forward to with great anticipation.
Now there’s a new type of reptile show, and I believe it’s the first type of reptile show of its kind: the Virtual Reptile Show! The VRS, brought to you by Zoo Med Laboratories and ReptileChannel.com, made its debut on February 24 and I, for one, am very excited about it.
I could use up a lot of space gabbing about the show here, but I think it’s best that you go check it out for yourself. Remember, this is just the start. I expect even bigger and better things for ReptileChannel’s Virtual Reptile Show in the future. We won’t be able to include live animals at the show, of course, but it’s exciting to contemplate the possibilities nonetheless!
