Looks like man’s best friend has found a new best friend in an 8-year-old Sulcata tortoise named Sheldon. Sheldon and his new best friend, Dolly, a female American pit bull terrier, were originally housed at the Humane Society of North Texas when Dr. Cindy Jones, a veterinarian who works at the society decided to adopt both of them.
“He’ll chase after her, she runs away and they do this for hours on end and apparently she’s been trying to get Sheldon to get interested in her favorite red ball but so far he has very little interest in it so he won’t play fetch with her but he will play chase with her,” Whitney Hanson, director of development and communications at the society, told ABC News.
Jones posted a video of the two playing on the grass on Youtube February 24, and while it hasn’t exactly gone viral, it does have more than 150,000 views in the week its been on the video sharing site.
ABC News reports that Jones also has a Labrador Retriever named Daisy whose is a friend of Dolly, but doesn’t want to play with him as much as Sheldon does.
