“I purchased my male Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis (Mister Gecko) in late 1997, he was adult. Today is March 5, 2018 and he is alive. He is arthritic, needs my assistance with molt removal and is no longer a lightning-strike hunter. But he’s still got vigor and looks to be in good health.
He has had a full life with “”wives”” and numerous offspring. Now he is the only one left. It looks to me like he’s got some more time.

“Hi I love reptiles I recently bought a gargoyle gecko and she is doing great. I thought in summer I could start breeding them and I kind of wanted to branch out but I didn’t know if my tempature is right for the geckos i live in northern california. your info was great thanks” You can’t do that! you said you have a gargoyle gecko you can’t base their care off a care sheet for giant day geckos I’m probably too late but Don’t do that, please.

My Gecko has suddenly taken on a far different behaviour…it used to move quickly through the cage and would always stay above ground. Recently I noticed it would be upside down on the wall of its cage and its tail would hang over its body, and then after a couple of days it went into a scrunched position as if maybe it was maybe impacted (like we would if we had a belly ache) and stay at the bottom of the cage. One day I thought it was dead and opened the cage, touched it and it tried to move but it could hardly move, legs moved quickly but off the ground and the body hardly moved. Today, 2 weeks later, it stays on the ground, and can’t move like it used to. It used to move quickly across the cage but now it struggles to move and stops after a couple seconds. What is your opinion as to what may be wrong with my little guy?
