A pair of boots designed to withstand snake bites failed the bite test as a contractor who put on a pair was bitten after the snake’s fangs went through the rubber like butter. Rocky Brands Inc., asked the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 1,800 pairs of the rubber boots after the incident took place. The boots which have the model name Rocky Silent Hunter Rubber Snake Boot, have a camouflage motif, are made of rubber and are 16-inches tall.

The Rocky Silent Hunter Rubber Snake Boots have been recalled.

No word on what type of snake bit through the rubber, but it is safe to say that the snake had some serious fangs. The contractor is said to have survived the bite.
