Vladmir kept several venomous snakes, including a green mamba, a red spitting cobra and the king cobra that killed him.
An amateur venomous snake keeper in Russia died when his king cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) bit him as he was feeding it. According to The Mirror, the man, only known as Vladimir, was feeding the snake when it attacked. He died within minutes in his girlfriend’s arms, the report said. His girlfriend, Anna, immediately called the ambulance but it was too late.
"Vladimir was not afraid of his poisonous (sic) serpents and liked playing with them. "His collection of snakes included a green mamba, a red spitting cobra and the king cobra, which killed him. He had only had the snake for a short time."
According to his social media profile, he had only been keeping snakes for two years, and his collection included a green mamba, a red spitting cobra and a king cobra.
The photos that show Vladimir with his snakes are telling. He handles them as if they are non-venomous. There is even a picture of him holding a cobra on his thigh as it is shedding. Another photo shows the cobra sitting up on his bed next to his laptop computer. Not sure if he felt invincible or just uninformed with regard to the seriousness of these reptiles.
