Helpful article, though mine absolutely hates to be handled and will raise his tail and try to bite me if I go anywhere near him.

Hi guys, I got a steppe runner Sunday night and now it’s Tuesday night and he hasn’t touched any of the worms I offered him. I put them in a food bowl and he doesn’t eat them he just basks then hides then basks. Any tips? –I also own a bearded dragon and I’ve had him for four years so this not eating behavior is strange to me becuase my beardie always eats. Thanks

“@Norma from Texas
You can try a simple Night Light that runs 75w (exo-terra, zoomed, etc) at night to keep the heat levels where they need to be. It is not too bright and will not interfere with their sleep cycle.

“I have a Steppe Runner and I was wondering now that its getting cold and its colder in my house is there a special lighting to help keep them warmer at night? I have a heat light and a regular light during day then at night black lights. This is what Petsmart advise me to have for my Steppe Runner. He seems to be sneezing a bit and waasn’t sure if he was just getting cold at night. Please help.
