Reticulated Python

Eastern Indigo Snake Care Sheet
The Blood Python
The Ever-Popular And Wonderfully Colored Ball Python

Description: Some reticulated pythons are sweet-tempered and trustworthy, however, many, especially wild-caught specimens, have nervous and irritable dispositions and simply do not make satisfactory captives. Considering their rapid growth, large appetites and cage requirements (and the willingness of most specimens to bite when handled), this species is not recommended as a suitable captive to any but the most serious and experienced keepers who realize what they're getting into. Captive-bred specimens are not typically as irritable as wild-caught snakes, and people who want a reticulated python should always try to purchase one that has been bred in captivity. There are also dwarf varieties available, which first-time reticulated python owners may want to try before obtaining a standard retic. These are still large snakes, but they reportedly do not attain the massive size of a standard reticulated python.
