The python tried to eat a running shoe but it didn't get very far with it.
A man in Australia encountered the strangest thing when he went into his yard looking for his running shoes. A python, described as an olive python (Liasis olivaceus) looked as if it was attempting to eat one of his shoes and refused to let go.
“He was stuck in my shoe for about 50 minutes, and I tried to get him out, but he refused to let it go,” Sipke Vink told News Australia.
The 2.5 meter long snake seemingly mistaked the shoe for something else.
Just why has this python taken a liking to a Caranovica man's shoes? 🐍 STORY: http://bit.ly/2z2ZoiL

Tony Harrison, also known as the Snakeman, of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, told the Daily Mail that something with the shoe attracted the reptile to it.
“It’s possible the pet cat or dog may have rubbed itself on the shoes and it smelt good to the snake,” Harrison said. “Otherwise they might like fishing and fish smell on it.. or they have pet birds and walk through aviaries often.”
The snake eventually got tired of going nowhere with the shoe, or figured out it was not food, and left. The shoe was unharmed in the incident.
The olive python can grow to more than 12 feet in length and are olive, greenish brown in coloration with a white belly. They are popular with reptile keepers in most of Australia.
