A monitor lizard (Goanna in Australia) makes quick work of a python.
Australia has got to be one of the best places to go herping. In this video uploaded to YouTube, a trio of walkers were in Noosa National Park in Queensland when they happened upon a large monitor lizard having a go with what appears to be a carpet python.
The reptiles were going at it right in the middle of the path in which Claudia, Abby and Anna (no last names given) were walking.
The monitor lizard definitely had the upper hand in the clip, which ends when the lizard drags the hapless snake into the bushes.
Only in Australia!
