Description:

Standing's day gecko is an impressive gecko. Aquariums make great homes for Standing's day geckos. A terrarium with more height than width is recommended. As Standing's day geckos are highly arboreal, providing objects for climbing and hiding is a must. Living plants provide hiding places and raise the humidity level in the enclosure as well. Substrate should be simple and easy to clean, newspaper or orchid bark (which retains humidity) are recommended. For Standing's day geckos, the temperature range should be between 75 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, with slight (8 to 10 degrees) temperature drops at night. A thermal gradient is recommended for Standing's day geckos and can be achieved by using an incandescent or floodlight bulb (positioned outside of the cage). Standing's day geckos require a constant supply of fresh water, a drip system is recommended for this purpose. Standing's day geckos require humidity levels ranging between 40 and 80 percent. Standing's day geckos are primarily insectivores, and they will sometimes accept variations of fruit juice and nectar. It is important to supplement their diets with vitamins.
