"We’ve exhausted ourselves looking for her, but the sad reality we’ve come to accept is that she isn’t coming back to us,” Kasey Kuchinski, Ethel's keeper wrote on Ethel’s Instagram, etheltheglamourtort

"Obviously we are devastated beyond words," Kuchinski wrote. "She was our baby, she was our family, she was so much more than just a pet. She was my joy. Though the wound will heal with time, the scar will always be there. She will never be forgotten. We don’t know what the future looks like, I don’t know what even happens now. I don’t know what I’m going to do with this account. But I cherish everyone of you, and I thank you for loving her as much as we do."

“I have a tortoise of my own, so I can just imagine the pain they’re going through,” Rhodes told the Times-Herald Online. “I wanted to do anything I could to to try and help. It helps to inspire people to search and to get the word out.”
